Lakeside Apartments is home to more than 700 Princeton University students. Opened in 2015, the 329 units are located within 14 apartment buildings. A project is currently underway to replace the older, worn out roofing with new standing seam metal roofs.
Northwest Roof Tile and Metal out of Houston, Texas is coordinating the roofing project with Mattco out of College Station, Texas. Together they started with one "demo building" before they'll move on to the rest of the structures.
Due to the potential for snow sliding off the roofs, the Northwest Roof Tile and Metal team recommended a S-5!® ColorGard bar snow retention system on the building.
"With almost 800 students living in these apartments we needed to carefully select a snow retention system that will slowly dissipate accumulated snow from the roofs," says Chris Oliphant with Northwest Roof Tile and Metal. "Students are out and about at all hours regardless of the weather. Our top concern is providing a safe way to release snow from the slick metal roof.
"We've worked with S-5!® ColorGard bar systems before and have seen how successful they are. We know they'll be a wonderful asset to these structures.
"In addition, we rely on Rocky Mountain Snow Guards to provide us with quality products and service on many projects. Their 50-Year Warranty gives our clients peace of mind and their No-Maintenance Guarantee will make life easier long term for the apartment maintenance team."
