Homeowner Stephen Perlmutter was frustrated by roofers who couldn’t figure out how to add a snow retention system to his roof. He needed one because his recently installed solar panels were shedding snow in massive snow slides.
Then he met roofing contractor Nick Piontek, owner of On Point Contracting out of Littleton, Colorado. Nick recommended moving the solar panels higher on the roof, moving some air vents and adding Drift Solar Snow Fence. He advised that the 12" tall, 4-pipe snow fence would create a "catch basin" for snow before it slides off the roof. In addition, he told Mr. Perlmutter that there was hail damage, and helped him win an insurance claim.
"State Farm paid to have the entire roof replaced," explains Perlmutter. "That meant removing the solar panels, so Nick moved them up the roof during reinstallation. Due to Nick's innovative approach to the problem and his can-do attitude, all we paid for was the moving of the air vent exhausts, the snow fence and its installation! And now the snow is held back and melts naturally!"
Congratulations to Nick and his team at On Point Contracting!
